::OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY::

It was so incredible to relay the Torch at home in Oakville today, made even sweeter running around the Burloak Canoe Club portaging a kayak, and torching off to John Wood, 1976 Olympic Silver Medalist in C1 500m (and a Pan Am bronze in Sailing!)...

Thanks to everyone who joined us in Oakville for the relay!

::TORCH BEARING::

I decided it would be a really good idea to post my torch bearing info on here in case anybody was interested in coming!

This Saturday, Dec 19th the Olympic Torch relay is coming through Oakville, ON!! And from approx 2-4pm it will be in downtown Oakville. I'm slated to carry it under the bridges on Water St. at 3:34pm to the Canoe Club. Hope to see lots of Oakvillians out screaming their brains out!!

::LAST WEEK IN THE SUNSHINE STATE::

We're all hoping Florida will regain it's reputation as sunny and warm this week, putting an end to this cold, rainy, windy nonsense. I've only got a few more days of Fall training here in Florida, and it's always more fun when the weather suits.

Prime Minister Harper is heading to Copenhagen this week for the Climate Change summit. I'm certain he isn't a loyal vankayak.com reader, but I do hope that he's going with an open mind and a green conscience. My fellow David Suzuki ambassador, Bruin Andrew Ference thinks so too!
